Welcome an International Student into Your Home

Can you provide a welcoming and caring home for a 15-18 year old international student? Our International Student Program is growing and we need your help. Learn about the benefits of becoming a host family and apply at http://www.whyihost.ca/edmonton. If you have questions about the hosting experience, contact hostinfo@CanadaHomestayNetwork.ca

Thank you for helping Edmonton Public Schools give our international students a warm welcome to our great community.

    School Volunteers

Another way to get involved is by volunteering your services to classrooms, the library and our many special events.

Our staff is committed to volunteers, believes in their value and recognizes their service.

If you would like to get involved, please contact the school office.

    Field Trip Volunteers

Parent volunteers are often needed and required to assist on field trips.  As Edmonton Public Schools insurance coverage for volunteers on field trips does not include coverage for siblings coming along on buses or at the field trip site, we regret that we cannot accommodate siblings.

Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!

At Earl Buxton School we believe that educating our students is a collective responsibility, shared by students and their families, school staff and the entire community.  Through a collaborative approach in working together with you as partners, we will maximize the potential of all students. We are committed to providing a positive learning environment that will foster and support high academic and behavioural expectations, capitalizing on the value of strong relationships.

You will find a copy of our student and parent information guide on this website. We created it as a framework for working together as a school community and continue to revise it based on our needs and experiences. Our handbook contains much information related to our expectations, processes and procedures. We ask that all parents review this document with their child(ren) each year.

As a school, we use SchoolZone as our primary mode of communication and we encourage our parents to check SchoolZone daily to receive timely information.

I look forward to working with each one of you, and together we will soar to ensure that all of our students learn at high levels as responsible, productive and engaged citizens within the global community.

Yours in Partnership,

Letitia Carter

Welcome

Earl Buxton School is located in southwest Edmonton in the Riverbend area. The school primarily serves children from the Rhatigan Ridge, River Ridge and Falconer Heights neighborhoods.

Our student population is organized into two morning and one afternoon Kindergarten classes and eighteen classes of students from Grades 1-6, for the 2022-2023 school year.

The School Council plays a very active role in supporting the school. The rate of volunteerism by parents is extremely high.
